Kayode Gboyega Ebenezer (Professionally Known as Gboyepraise)
Kayode Gboyega Ebenezer, widely known as Gboyepraise, is a passionate musician, devoted lover of God, and a distinguished professional with a rich educational background and impressive track record. Born in Igasi Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria, Gboyepraise began his educational journey at St. Silas Anglican Primary School before completing his primary education at Local Authority (LA) Primary School in Igasi Akoko. He proceeded to St. Silas Anglican Secondary School in Omuooke-Ekiti, where he laid the foundation for his academic and personal growth.
From an early age, Gboyepraise displayed a natural affinity for music. Growing up in a Christian home, his deep relationship with Christ nurtured his unwavering love for God and music. He began his musical journey as a drummer in the choir of his local church, Christ Apostolic Church, Igasi Akoko, his hometown. Over time, he discovered his vocal talent and developed a love for the saxophone. Today, by God’s grace, he not only sings but also ministers powerfully with the saxophone, allowing the Spirit of God to guide his performances.
In 2009, Gboyepraise gained admission to Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, where he earned a degree in History and International Studies. During his time at the university, his passion for music continued to grow. In 2011, he formed his first band in his hometown, further solidifying his commitment to his musical journey.
Following his undergraduate studies, Gboyepraise pursued a Master’s degree in African History at Obafemi Awolowo University (O.A.U) in Ile-Ife, Osun State. In 2014, during his NYSC year, he experienced a profound spiritual transformation when he gave his life to Christ at RCCG House of Joy, Epe, Lagos. This pivotal moment marked a new chapter in his life and musical career. Determined to stand out, he dedicated himself to honing his skills, mastering the saxophone, and drawing inspiration from other talented musicians.
Throughout his career, Gboyepraise has played with several distinguished choirs in Nigeria, such as RCCG Amazing Choir in Agege, Lagos, and RCCG LP10 Sunshine Parish in Mulero, Lagos. His talent and dedication earned him invitations to minister and perform at numerous events across Nigeria.
